Sounds interesting, what exactly do I need for a complete jLAN Mobile solution to work?

The solution requires two components. 1) jLAN Mobile Sales, Routes and Survey software installed on any Windows Mobile Device or Windows tablet. 2) jLAN Mobile Server. This MS SQL Server based "middle ware" is the software that receives and sends data between your PDA and the back office system.


Can I connect and synchronize over a wireless data network?

Yes. You will need to get wireless data service from any wireless data provider. Some providers, like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon sell converged devices that are voice phones with a built-in Windows Mobile. 
If I don't need wireless, how else can I connect and synchronize?

You can synchronize over a regular cable or DSL internet line or hot synch directly through a cradle. There are various synchronization options available.
How current is the data on the mobile device?

jLAN Mobile Software utilizes Microsoft SQL Server synchronization technologies to keep the data fresh on both the mobile device and the back office system. You can schedule the synchronization process to run as often as needed. Alternatively you can choose to kick off a manual synchronization process if you need a quick refresh.
Can I print from the mobile device or tablet?

Yes. You can use the IR (infra red) port, serial connection, WiFI or Bluetooth connection to a printer and print documents directly from the mobile device.
I'm concerned about distributing my company's data onto mobile devices.

The jLAN Mobile Server software allows system administrators to customize what data gets sent to what users. For example, you can control which customers get down loaded to which PDA via a Salesperson ID. System administrators can also lock out users from synchronizing, or prohibit synchronization if a user has not connected within a pre-determined period of time. The jLAN Mobile Server can also remote ‘wipe out’ a field PDA.
What accounting systems does jLAN Mobile integrate to?

jLAN Mobile includes a seamless integration solution for Microsoft Dynamics GP, Dynamics AX, Dynamics NAV, Syspro and Net Suite. Coming soon AccPAc ERP. With the jLAN Mobile Extensibility Guide, jLAN Mobile can be used to integrate to almost any ERP system.
What if I don’t have a connection can I still work ?

Yes, Data is maintained locally on the mobile device or tablet. You can work independently and synchronize when you are able to establish a connection.
Is  Bar Code scanning supported?
Yes, You can scan bar codes to add inventory items to orders or scan customer codes to quickly find customer records.
What mobile devices are supported?
jLAN Mobile is compatible with most devices running Windows Mobile 5.0. 6.0 and 6.5. jLAN Mobile Laptop edition is compatible with any Net Book,  laptop or tablet running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.
